The recital will be held on December 13. The first session is from 9:30–10:30 AM, and the second session is from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM. For students joining online, the recital will be streamed at 7:30 PM EST (6:30 PM CST). The location for in-person attendees is Christ Lutheran Church, 1245 Hamilton St, Allentown.
Admission is free for everyone! You’re welcome to bring friends and family to support the performers.
Please use the lot across the street from the church. Do not park in the church’s side lot, as it belongs to the neighboring funeral home.
Dress up is welcome since this is a special occasion. Comfort is important too, so choose something that allows easy movement while playing.
Performers should arrive at least 10 minutes before their session. This gives them time to warm up their hands (especially in winter) and to relax before going on stage.
Yes! We recommend going through the recital piece 1–2 times at home as a warm-up if possible.
Absolutely! Even if the piece is memorized, performers MUST bring their sheet music. The teacher won’t have time to find it during the recital.
First, practice your recital piece carefully and try to run through it every day to make sure your performance is smooth. Also, practice the full recital routine— coming on stage, bowing, playing, and bowing at the end. Here’s a YouTube link showing the exact process, which you can watch for guidance:

Performers will sit in the front row. Younger performers may sit with a parent until it’s their turn. Someone will escort them to the stage area before they perform.
The program is available here, and on recital day, there will also be a QR code on the screen that you can scan to view it.
Arrive on time and be respectful of all performers.
If you arrive late, wait until applause ends before moving to your seat.
Please mute phones and other electronic devices.
The recital is being recorded, and each performer will receive their individual clip afterward.
Yes! You’re welcome to take photos or videos, but please stay quiet and avoid using flash. Filming during performances is ok too. Just so you know, the entire recital will be recorded, and each performer will get their own individual clip afterward.
There is no formal break or intermission, so please plan accordingly.
Yes. At the end of each session, we’ll take a studio photo. Every performer will receive a certificate.
If a performer is sick and cannot attend the recital, please let us know as soon as possible. If a performer forgets their sheet music, we’ll do our best to help, but please understand the teacher may not have your music with her. In that case, you may need to perform from memory.
If you arrive late, please enter quietly so as not to disturb the performers. If you need to move around in the audience, wait until a performance ends— either during the applause or between pieces, before walking to your seat.
